Whether you're dealing with bladder control issues, struggling with bowel movements, or simply looking to improve your pelvic health, Britt offers practical advice on exercises and lifestyle changes that can make a difference. Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for moms and moms-to-be who want to improve their bowel and bladder health and become more confident in their pelvic floor.

What will you learn?

In this workshop you will connect with other moms and learn about the:

  • Anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor as it relates to peeing and pooping
  • Impact of pregnancy and birth on your bowel and bladder function, including issues like incontinence (leaking pee), constipation, pain and pelvic organ prolapse (vaginal heaviness)
  • Techniques to improve awareness and control of your pelvic floor (What is a kegel?)
  • Behavior and lifestyle modifications to improve bladder and bowel function
  • Community and resources available to support your pelvic and bowel and bladder wellness today

What should you bring?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and bring a yoga mat (if you have one). Please consider having little ones stay at home, if possible. This way you can fully engage in the workshop and get the most benefit from the valuable information and activities we have planned. Give yourself the gift of undivided attention.

About your teacher:

Britt van Hees is a highly-qualified pelvic floor expert and educator who is dedicated to empowering women, particularly mothers, with the knowledge and tools needed to take control of their pelvic health. Britt holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy along with a Research Masters in the study of pelvic floor neuromuscular control. Britt is also a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association with over 10 years' experience treating patients and teaching clinicians about pelvic floor dysfunction.

Originally from Berkeley, California, Britt now resides in Amsterdam with her husband and 2-year-old daughter. She has taken a hiatus from clinical work in order to focus more fully on pelvic floor outreach and education. Britt is thrilled to partner with The Labour Depart. to present the How Pregnancy and Birth Change your Physiology workshop series and educate more mothers about pelvic wellness.
