In this four session program for pregnant couples in The Hague, Prepped to Parent takes you through all the realities that you will encounter after birth.

Prepped to Parent is no ordinary new parent course! It teaches even more skills that those covered in standard postnatal classes, baby education classes and new parenthood courses. 

In short, these sessions are parenting classes with a difference which will equip you with the skills to look after your new baby with confidence together!

Prepped to Parent in The Hague includes

During this session we'll explore the emotional challenges during pregnancy & the early stages of parenthood, alongside how both parents can look after their emotional health.

Newborn babies can’t tell you if or when something is wrong. This session, will help you keep calm around the million do’s & don'ts of fumbling through those early maternity days.

This session is focused on creating a positive postpartum experience. We'll explore a combination of tools like mindfulness & processing, relaxation & nourishment can help new parents recover from pregnancy & birth.

  • I'm pregnant, can I join?
    Yes, you're welcome to join! Many parents start hanging with us while they are pregnant or expecting their baby :-)
  • Who hosts?
    Most of our events are hosted by The Labour Dept. team or one of our amazing community members. We occasionally have local experts like doulas, therapists or postpartum workers hosting :-)
  • What if I want to cancel my membership
    No problem! Just give us 30 days notice :-)
  • What programming is included?
    Members have access to pop up events as well as monthly community meet-ups. However, as a member you'll receive regular discounts :-)
  • Who is this for?
    Parents and parents to be living in Amsterdam.
  • When and where?
    Each month we drop a new calendar of community events just for our subscribers. The majority of events will take place during week days at The Labout Dept.
  • Can I just show up?
    While some of our events are drop in, if the event says registration required you will need to save your spot (at no extra charge). We do this so that we can ensure the group isn't too big and overwhelming.
  • Who can you expect to meet there?
    You can expect a small group of English-speaking parents living in and around Amsterdam.
  • What's included in the monthly fee?

  • Can I bring my mini?
    Unless specifically stated, all events are BYOB (bring your own baby). FYI, pram parking is limited to outdoors so be sure you can easily bring your valuables inside with you.
  • Who is this program for?
    For pregnant English speaking couples who want to be prepared for everything after birth and make new friends along the way.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    If you are unable to join the group for reasons beyond your control, please let us know. For cancellations up to eight weeks before the course starts, an administration fee of € 50 will be charged (deducted from the fee paid). The remaining amount will be returned. From six weeks to four weeks before the course starts, 50% of the course fee will be refunded. After that, the full course fee is paid for and cannot be returned.
  • Is Prepped to Parent just for expats?
    No! We have participants from all over the world, including right here in The Netherlands.
  • At what stage of pregnancy should I attend?
    The ideal time to join Prepped to Parent usually falls between the 27th and 33rd week of your pregnancy.
  • What does this program include?

  • Is the price for a single person or a couple?
    Each ticket is for a pregnant person and their partner. This doesn't have to be a love partner, can be a friend or birth partner.
  • What language is Prepped to parent taught in?
    Our classes are all taught in English.
  • Who are the teachers?​
    Each class is taught by an expert in their field Baby Medical Basics: Paediatrician, Kraamzorg or Nurse Mental health from Pregnancy to Parenthood: Psychologist Preparing for Postpartum: Doula Breastfeeding Foundations: Certified Advanced Lactation Specialist or Lactatiekundige IBCLC

There are plenty of pre-natal classes to teach you how to have that baby you are growing. This is NOT that.

About the venue

Where do the classes take place?

Prepped to Parent The Hague takes place in The Social Hub The Hague (formerly The Student Hotel). It's an amazing hotel and co-working space. 

Where is The Social Hub? 

The Social Hub is located in Hoefkade 9, 2526 BN Den Haag. Situated in a multi-cultural neighbourhood just a short walk from the city centre. It's a beautiful leafy district with Grote Markt’s outdoor cafes & bars, Old Masters at Mauritshuis & the Binnenhof.

How do we get there?

The Social Hub is easily accessible from our well-connected location. By public transport, taxi, on foot or with a bike – you’ll arrive on time, every time.

22 minute walk from Den Haag Centraal

2 minute walk from Station Hollands Spoor Loop

Near cafes and dining in The Hague Center, The Social Hub is a 3-minute walk from Den Haag HS train station and 2 km from art at the Mauritshuis.

Is there parking?

Parking is available upon request.
