In this class you will learn life saving skills for the infant and child. Learn how to manage choking and recognise when and how to perform basic life support with UK Paediatrician Camilla.

About the Event
Who is this class for? Anyone and everyone! you never know when your skills could help save a life.
What will you leave with? Confidence!
You will be taught how to recognize if a baby and child is choking and what to do.
You will also be taught how to recognise that a child does not have signs of life and the next steps to take including giving breaths, chest compressions and placing in the recovery position.
What should you bring with you? Any specific concerns that you want addressed.
About your teacher:
Dr. Camilla is a Pediatric doctor from the U.K with a specialist interest in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Neonatal Medicine, Simulation Training in Medical Education and Global Child Health. Co-Founder of Newborn & Beyond; an educational service teaching newborn and child Basic Life Support skills and First Aid.

Where will this event take place?
The Labour Dept is located in the heart of Amsterdam west at 68 Postjesweg. Our Space is easy to get to by foot, bike or public transport (7, 17, 18, 1)
Does it matter where in my parenthood journey I am?
Unless specified, from pregnancy, to postpartum to raising teens- you're welcome to attend our events at any stage of your parenthood journey.
What facilities are available for babies?
We have a diaper changing station, water heater for bottles, breastfeeding chair and pillow and plenty of multisensory interactive toys for your mini.
What language will be spoken?
It's not uncommon for a group at The Labour Dept. to be made up with people from over 5 different countries. To accommodate our diverse community, all of our classes are taught in English.
How many people can I expect?
We like to keep things small in order to create an environment that facilitates community! On average we have between 5 and 15 participants.
Can I bring my mini?
We love babies and kids! Most of our events are mini friendly, if you're unsure please don't hesitate to send us an email thelabourdept@gmail.com
Can I bring my stroller or pram?
Our space is small, please avoid bringing a pram. Stroller parking is outside.
