In this group session, Marieke (Lactation Counselor) will hear your breastfeeding challenges & answer questions. This is a great space for questions like how to solve light discomfort, organise pumping or start weaning. Perfect for those who don't need 1:1 support but want to connect with a pro.

About the Event

This small group breastfeeding workshop will explore all your questions, like how to feed in the most comfortable position for yourself and baby, how to feed in a vertical position, and how to feed your baby in the most effective way. Marieke, a Lactation Counselor IBCLC, will also help you solve the light discomfort you can be experiencing, and we’ll discuss how to go back to work, or organize pumping or (partly) weaning off.

Don’t forget to bring any of your breastfeeding materials that you have questions about!

Where will this event take place?

The Labour Dept is located in the heart of Amsterdam west at 68 Postjesweg. Our Space is easy to get to by foot, bike or public transport (7, 17, 18, 1)​​

Does it matter where in my parenthood journey I am? 

Unless specified, from pregnancy, to postpartum to raising teens- you're welcome to attend our events at any stage of your parenthood journey.  

What facilities are available for babies? 

We have a diaper changing station, water heater for bottles, breastfeeding chair and pillow and plenty of multisensory interactive toys for your mini. 

What language will be spoken?

It's not uncommon for a group at The Labour Dept. to be made up with people from over 5 different countries. To accommodate our diverse community, all of our classes are taught in English.

How many people can I expect? 

We like to keep things small in order to create an environment that facilitates community! On average we have between 5 and 15 participants. 

Can I bring my mini? 

We love babies and kids! Most of our events are mini friendly, if you're unsure please don't hesitate to send us an email thelabourdept@gmail.com

Can I bring my stroller or pram? 

Our space is small, please avoid bringing a pram. Stroller parking is outside.
