About your instructor

I’m originally from northern California where the redwood trees meet the Pacific Ocean. In this remote community, my mother birthed me with the support of her husband, mother, and midwife by her side. As a young girl, I was told the story of my birth– I was my mother’s first baby, and I was the midwife’s one-thousandth baby. My entire life I’ve cherished my birth story. In this story, my love for supporting and nourishing women was born.

When I was 15 years old, I supported a woman in labor for the very first time. The birthing woman was my mother. As I watched in awe as my mother gave birth to my youngest brother, I witnessed the most extraordinary thing I could imagine. This moment so profoundly inspired me that it eventually shaped my own birth experience, perspective on birth, and what I’m most passionate about: nurturing others!

In 2020, my daughter, Flora, was born and I became a mother. This experience reawakened my dream of becoming a birthkeeper. After spending the last six years working in education, I retrained as a birth and postpartum doula and as a prenatal yoga teacher.

In early 2022, my family and I moved to Amsterdam and had to quickly learn how to navigate the Dutch system without a ton of community. As an expat myself, I’d love to support you along this unique journey into motherhood.

At the heart of my work is a deeply-rooted belief in the strength, resilience, and brilliant design of our bodies.I have a holistic approach to supporting my clients through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. I believe that there is no wrong way to give birth, and I understand that every family has different needs, experiences, and wishes. I am passionate about learning how to best support my families, training in birth and postpartum care, nutritional support, prenatal massage, and prenatal yoga. As you may have already guessed, I have an insatiable interest in everything related to birth and parenthood, and I’m constantly learning about traditional wisdom and up-to-date research to give you all the options available.
